Ireland 2-1 Belarus

John Jermyn equalised for Ireland at the North Wales Stadium

Ireland started their Eurohockey Nations Trophy campaign with victory in Wrexham on Saturday.

Ivan Kisialevich put Belarus in front after 18 minutes but John Jermym levelled from a penalty corner three minutes later.

Alan Southern scored the winner on 23 minutes when he slotted home with a trademark drag from a penalty corner.

Ireland's next opponents are Italy on Sunday with their third game against Russia on Wednesday.
