Blue Square South side Staines pulled off the biggest FA Cup win in their history as Ali Chaaban's goal gave them victory at League Two Shrewsbury.
Chaaban beat three men on a 30-yard run before firing home to put Town out in round one for the fourth straight year.
Jake Robinson, Shane Cansdell-Sherriff and David Hibbert all had chances to equalise for the hosts.
But substitute Dean Thomas missed a great chance to double the lead when he headed wide from six yards out.
Shrewsbury Town manager Paul Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire:
"I don't want to sound disrespectful to Staines, as they deserved to win, but that Shrewsbury team should not be losing to Staines Town.
"The players have put on a performance that was disrespectful to the football club and disrespectful to me, and maybe we've learnt some unfortunate harsh lessons about some individuals.
"We were flat, even in the second half when we put three strikers on. The quality into the box was a disgrace, and in the end we got what we deserved."
Staines boss Steve Cordery told BBC Surrey:
"I felt we were the better team for long periods of the game.
"We felt we could have had more quality in certain areas but we've just beaten a league side again and we're going to enjoy it."
