Wycombe reject third Tyson offer
Sheffield Wednesday have failed with another offer for in-form Wycombe striker Nathan Tyson - their third bid for the 23-year-old within a week.
"On Thursday, I had a conversation with Wycombe where they indicated the value they would accept," chief executive Kaven Walker told his club's website.
"We made an offer at that valuation - £500,000, and a further £100,000 based on performance.
"Wycombe have rejected that offer, stating they want £750,000 for him."
Walker added: "We believe that is well above our valuation of Nathan at this moment in time."
Wycombe signed Tyson from Reading in March 2004 following a successful loan spell.
He has since scored 39 goals in 69 league and cup appearances for the League Two club.
However, any permanent signing would not have been able to be concluded until the transfer window re-opens in January.
Meanwhile, Walker added that the Owls are still interested in Southampton striker Leon Best, who joined them on loan at the start of the season but had his spell at Hillsborough cut short by injury.
